Landscape Design and Planting in the Lehigh Valley

New beds, better plants and a layout that makes sense for how you use the yard. We design it, install it and can keep it maintained afterward.

Maybe the front beds came with the house and never looked right. Maybe the builder planted the cheapest shrubs possible fifteen years ago and they have taken over. Or maybe you have a blank yard and no idea where to start. ESG Landscaping designs and installs landscapes for Lehigh Valley homes that look good from the street and stay manageable for years.

We start with how you actually use the property, how much upkeep you want and what the site gives us to work with: sun, shade, slope, soil and drainage. Then we build a plan around plants that do well here, not ones that look good at the garden center for two weeks.

Plants that work in the Lehigh Valley

The Lehigh Valley has cold winters, humid summers and a lot of heavy clay soil. Deer pressure is real in many neighborhoods too. We plan around all of it, leaning on proven performers and native plants that handle local conditions without babysitting.

Fall and spring are the best planting windows here. Fall is often the better of the two, since warm soil and cooler air let roots establish before summer heat arrives. If you are thinking about a spring project, the best time to plan it is over the winter so you are first on the schedule.

We provide landscape design and planting in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, East Stroudsburg and across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. See the full service area.

FAQ

Landscape Design questions

Do not see your question? Call or text us and you will get a straight answer.

How does the design process work?

We meet at the property, talk through what you want and look at the site. Then we put together a plan and a written price. Once you approve it, we schedule the install.

Can you work with a budget?

Yes. Tell us the number you are comfortable with and we will design to it. Projects can also be phased, doing the front of the house this year and the back next year.

Will you maintain the landscape after it is installed?

We can. Since we also handle mowing, trimming, mulching and cleanups, the same crew that installed your landscape can keep it looking the way it was designed.

When is the best time to plant?

Spring and fall. Fall planting is underrated in Pennsylvania because roots keep growing in warm soil long after the air cools down.
